Mirrored orbs of eyes lined with kohl
to ward off the evil eye,
startled bindi marks her forehead,
center of her being, as one with the universe.
Rich stains seep through ivory skin,
of crushed henna, as an unending maze.
Sunburst marigolds squat on dewed grass
hearing hushed whispers upon mumbled mantras.
Stiff old aunts stiff in starched saris,
crusty vermilion in their hair as
flaking proof of marriages that last.
Watching young girls dance to flute melodies,
plotting upon future brides for sons.
Downcast timid bridal eyes harboring

Last week when i had to say bye to my brother after 1 month of stay with him.

Yes. Thalai ezhuthu dhan urupidiya illa. Atleast my hand writing is decent.

Enoda amma kaata veral. When she ootifies me at times :D

I am. I do take all sorts of risks.

Thalai oda order nala inke inda post. My policy is that if we give someone a gift, it should be both useful, memorable and a long lasting one. Summa greeting card-u, poo chandu la lam i dont believe. Kaasu kuduthu vangara porul usefulavum irukanum adhe madri romba naal nambala nyabagam vechukara madriyum irukanum.
Ambi akka oda kalyanathoda gift was a funny one. Ice-kum adhe madri pananumnu aasai irundadhu, but there were not so many people to help and also the resourses were not adequate. Apadi ena Ambi akka oda giftnu kekarengala? We got some few card board boxes and stuffs like bommai, socks, hairpin, comb, chocolate and all silly things and kept rapping one after the other and stuffed with so much of waste paper cuttings, that hey had to fish out for their gift. Kadaise ya the original gift of the "Divinity" gold plated picture.
Ice-ukum ide madri creative-a edachum kudukalaamnu yosichom. The various gifts that were suggested were : Some Divinity piece or showcase piece or a dinner set. As the dinner set was a better utilitarian it was finalised. 4th Block Jainagar la poi vangalaamnu decide pani anga ponom. Anda kadaiku pona we got so many new ideas. kutti kutti car bomai, cycle ellam irundadhu. Seri pesama, futurela ice oda kozhandaiku usefula irukatumenu oru cycle or car bommai vangidalaamnu almost finalise pana apram.. romba alpathanam pana vendam, kozhandai porakache aduku thaniya gift kuduthukalaamndra ideala inda cycle gap mattera freeya vitutu dinner set edathuku poi paarthom. Super super varieties la naraya vechurunda. Onu colour pidicha piece naraya illa, illa naraya piece irukum colour seri illa.. finala oru set decide pani pack panitom. Adukulyum anda kadai kaarana pesi oru vazhi panitom.
Anda dinner set la 6 plates and side plates set irundadhu. Odane sudh bayangara intelligenta onu sonnan. Yeah idu correcat irukum. One for ice, one for imsa, two for their kids ( small family happy family :P) and two for their parentsnu :D hehe .. [edho baba blacksheep rhyme madri irundadhu]. Apram incase their parents are not in town na ena pandradhunu ketadhuku namba pona samachu podanu solitan :P

Jillunu oru jodi.
:D Enoda nanban Ice kum Imsa kum pona Monday dhan kalyanam nadandhuchu. Avanga rendu perum sema sweet couples. Kitathata 1 yeara marachu vecha ponna pakarathukagavendiye Kuwait lendu sekaram kalambu vanda apram dhan puriyudhu yen Ice Imsa oda intro kekumbodhu ellam siriche samalicharunu. Kann patudumdra bayam. Seriously she was super cute girl. Samatha azhaga irundanga. Another black and white frienda ner la pathuten. Only one more person is left in our old gumbal to be met in person.
Saturday nite bus eri banglore poi senda sema kuluru! yeppa ooty vida mosama irunddhu.. (ana na idu varaikum ooty poi pathadhe illa.. summa oru effect kaga sonnen :P). En nanban avanodaya superfast bike la vandu kutitu ponan. Travel panna kalaipula poi thungiten friend veetula. Apram thalaiyum azhuku muttai kum fone panna, anda rendu somberiyum thungitu irundanunga. So nanum resumed to my sleep :D Apram ezhundu kulichu break fast lam saptu match pathindrundom konjam neram apram thalai and AM came. Konja neram Barista la aratai adichutu gossip lam panitu oru coffee kudichutu we started towards the reception. Enga poradha kaalam blore la edho naansense pasaga riots and curfew ntanga.. so auto lam kadaikardhe kashtama irundadhu. Adichu pudichu 7.30ku poi sendha reception halluku inum ponnum maapliayum varaveilla.. appadanu solitu poi okandu konjam neram aratai adichom. Apram the usual round of kalaichings lam nadandadhum .. queue la poi wait pani mana makkala paathu vaazhthitu engaloda mukyamana matter.. dinner ku poitu nalla kotindom. Apram AM thirumba cochin poganumdradhunaala avana thalai kondupoi tashion la vitutu poitan and we took a cab and reached journalist akka home. Kris left early coz he had to reach his home before we cud go there. Aduku apram poi konjam aratai adichutu went off to bed.
Adutha naal karthala ezhundu kulichutu kalambalaamnu patha autove kadaikala.. apram romba neram kezhichu kadachadhu... serinu outer ring road nu solli erina avan edho oru route la poitan.. romba suthitu apram enga kalyanamlam mudinjirkumonu thitinde pona apo dhan maaplai saare vandaru.. apram made fun of him to the core and was having max fun. :( oru kuzhandaiyin engudhal
Felt so bad after reading this. Ladies going to job is fine... but definitely not after they have got a kid. Amma - Appa paasam cannot be replaced by some caretaker. Please for heaven sake understand that.. both the parents going for job to run a decent comfortable life is all understandable, but not at the cost of the affection and care that is to be shown towards their child.
